Summary

This course prepares you for the role of a Community Activator Coach, supporting occupations such as Sports Coach, Activity Leader, Community Worker, or Outreach Officer. Employed by sport for social change charities, local authorities, sports clubs, leisure centers, youth work agencies, and housing associations, these roles focus on engaging inactive groups. Community Activator Coaches play a vital role in improving national health and wellbeing by promoting and delivering inclusive and engaging activities that encourage physical activity. They understand and connect with diverse communities, especially targeting inactive teenagers and other groups. Equipped with specialist knowledge, they work with various community members to foster a physically active lifestyle, improve safety alongside youth workers and police, and enhance health with medical professionals. The role is flexible, often requiring work during evenings, weekends, and school holidays.

Maths & English
This apprenticeship requires learners to achieve maths and English at Level 1. Typically, it is realistic for learners to progress up one level during the apprenticeship. At interview, we will carry out an assessment to determine current literacy and numeracy levels. We will take account of any support needs in determining the suitability of learners for this apprenticeship.
