Embark on a captivating journey into the world of printing with our introductory course. Discover the art of printing onto paper in a fine art and design context. This course is designed to familiarise students with the equipment and materials used in the process. You'll learn some of the many different types of Printmaking including monoprint, lino, screen printing, dry point & more. You will get to use printing presses and plates under the guidance of your very experienced tutor creating several pieces of art you can cherish! This course will allow you to learn about the different types of printing, inks and techniques giving you a hands on introduction to all things print.
How will I learn?
Our course provides a supportive and inspiring environment for beginners in printing. Through hands-on workshops, demonstrations, and one-on-one guidance, you'll gain a solid foundation in the techniques and principles of this versatile art form. You'll learn to operate the necessary equipment, prepare screens, mix inks, and execute prints with precision and creativity. Our experienced tutor Cliff will be there to support you in exploring your artistic ideas and developing your own unique style.

There are no requirements for this course other than a keen interest in the subject and a willingness to learn!

Course fees explained
The course fee is usually broken down into three components which are materials (resources required to study the course, for example stationery, books and other equipment), tuition (teaching, classroom etc) and exams. Depending on age, financial circumstances and a number of other factors, you could be asked to pay the full fee or just elements of it. Usually Learners under 19 studying Full-Time courses have just material fees, and if relevant, Academy fees, to pay. Over 19s on Full-Time or Part-Time courses usually have materials, exams and tuition fees to pay.

All Part-Time courses are available to enrol online via a quick and easy online enrolment form. Simply click the 'Enrol' button above to add your enrolment to the course basket, then click the 'Start application' button within the basket commence your enrolment.
If you have any issues applying online we also accept paper enrolments. You can download and print our 2023/2024 Enrolment Request Form. Alternatively, you can visit your local campus to collect a form. An enrolment form can also be sent to you by post, simply contact our Customer Experience team to arrange this.
