Creating & Casting a Portrait Head - Summer School Level 1
Information Dates and EnrolmentSummary
Through this exciting 5 day course you will be working from a life model to create your own 3D portrait head. You will learn how to make a life-sized portrait head in clay over the first 2 days from the life model. Over the following two days you will learn how to make a plaster mould from your modelled head. You will then learn how to take a cast from this mould in hard plaster. You should be able to use the end of the week to consider how to finish your cast – adding colour or a particular surface texture. By the end of the course you will be able to take away your own creation and carry the skills you have learnt with you!
How will I learn?
Through hands on lessons and creative demonstrations in sessions. You will be supported by the tutor in creating your own ideas and provided ideas to follow and adapt.
