SGS College Empowers Adults with Part-Time Courses for Career Change and Upskilling

SGS College is excited to announce the launch of its comprehensive part-time course offer aimed at adults seeking to change careers, enhance their current skills or build their confidence.

These courses are designed to provide flexible learning opportunities that fit around busy lifestyles, making it easier than ever for adults to pursue new professional or developmental paths.

The Ofsted outstanding provision at SGS, offers a diverse range of programs across various industries including ESOL, construction, English, maths, creativity, fitness, hair, beauty and professional courses, plus much more.

With expert instructors and hands-on training, learners receive the practical skills and knowledge needed to excel in their chosen fields.

Notably, the College also provides Access to Higher Education courses, enabling adults without traditional qualifications to enter university and pursue their academic aspirations.

At SGS College, we believe that it’s never too late to make a change,” said Liam Evans, Vice Principal – Corporate and Community at SGS College. “Our part-time courses are perfect for those looking to transition into a new career, advance their current one or reengage with education. We provide a supportive learning environment that helps our learners achieve their professional or personal goals.

One example of this is 35-year-old Mike Johnson. Mike, a dentistry nurse, wanted to progress in his career and decided to study an Access to Science course to enable him to enter university. After a year of studying during the pandemic, Mike was accepted to the University of Bristol to study Dental Hygiene and Therapy and has since passed with First Class Honours.

Mike has now gained the role of a Dental Therapist where he will be working in a mixture of private and NHS clients, helping patients who have complex learning difficulties, complicated medical histories and special needs.

Mike commented:

The Access course gave me the tools I needed to succeed at University. The tutors were incredibly supportive, even in the midst of a pandemic. I worked part-time alongside studying, which was tough, but improved my time management skills. I would recommend anyone wanting to improve themselves, to just go for it.

In addition to a robust curriculum, SGS College offers various financial aid packages to ensure that provision is accessible to everyone. Schemes such as the Advanced Learner Loan and Free Courses for Jobs are available to eligible learners, in addition to other support options.
