FTE Salary: up to £33,666.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)

Actual Salary: up to £20,199.60
Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time
Working Hours: 22.2 hours per week

SGS College has an exciting opportunity for an Independent Specialised Provision Tutor

Are you passionate about supporting people with a moderate to severe learning disabilities to live full lives and realise their ambitions?

We are looking for an experienced SEND Tutor to join our SGS College CHASE team. You will play a key role in developing and delivering an exciting and innovative curriculum for our growing high needs provision for young people with SLD/MLD.  The CHASE team consists of 5 tutors and a team of dedicated In Class Support Workers, along with other support staff who currently cater for 25 young people, all of whom have an EHCP.

Many of our students use our wider college community and beyond to work towards Preparing for Adulthood outcomes, including volunteering & employment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop teaching resources to match learners needs
  • Act as personal tutor
  • Direct and support In Class Support workers to enrich the learning experience,
  • Day to day teaching delivery and assessment and
  • Liaising with tutors in the wider college to build opportunities for collaborative projects.
  • Record daily logs, administer medication, liaise with our Speech and Language, therapy team and Additional Learning support teams.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Teaching Qualification (DTLLS) or willing to be working towards
  • GCSE Maths and English grade C or above or Level 2 equivalent
  • Experience working with pre-entry to level 1 students with SEND and SEMH
