Higher Education Student Recruitment and Communications Officer

Location: WISE Campus- with the expectation to occasionally travel to Bristol School of Art, Queens Road and the Zoo as part of the role.
FTE Salary: £26,061 pro-rota (Actual £10,565.27)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 15 hours per week

We have created two brand new Student Communications and Recruitment Officers roles which will assist with the recruitment of higher education students and help enhance the experience of existing students. These are interesting and varied job roles which are suitable for those looking to develop their careers in marketing and student recruitment.
If you are an innovative and creative individual who enjoys working with a variety of people and has the ability to create engaging marketing content then we want to hear from you! You will work closely with designated curriculum teams and student ambassadors in creating content that fully captures life in our dynamic departments. You will also be expected to help develop local school and community relations and assist with outreach activities to enhance awareness of higher education at SGS.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the attainment of the College’s OfS Access and Participation Plan targets.
- Meet with Subject Area Leads (SALs) and Subject Area Ambassadors on a regular, ongoing basis to review, reflect and evaluate marketing and communication practices and
- Propose new and innovative campaign ideas and opportunities at team meetings.
- Work with subject areas to develop a collection of aspirational activities, interventions and taster sessions which encourage participation from under-represented and hard to reach individuals.
- Assist with the implementation of the Higher Education Student Recruitment, Marketing and Communication Strategies.
- Develop an exceptional working knowledge of allocated HE subject areas and the broader SGS HE portfolio in order to ensure that key messaging, unique selling points and programme/student opportunities are appropriately
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- L5/6 Degree/HND qualification or equivalent
- Advanced IT skills
- Full driving licence and access to a car
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience of a Higher Education environment would be advantageous
