Bricklayer apprentice to join our team working on different types of jobs such as lay bricks, blocks and other types of building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches and other structures eg chimney stacks. They might also refurbish brickwork and masonry on restoration projects.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

As the successful apprentice you will undertake an apprenticeship in Bricklaying to include assessment in Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours of a Bricklayer), Functional Skills in maths and English (where applicable), completion of your End-Point Assessment. During your time on the apprenticeship programme, you will also be expected to complete and document 20% off-job-training.
The Apprenticeship will be delivered by South Gloucestershire & Stroud College over 2.5 years.
You will be required to attend Horizon 38 Construction Campus on block release for your studies and an assessor will visit you out on site. You will be assigned a supervisor/mentor within the workplace, who will support you to develop your workplace skills, knowledge and behaviours throughout the duration of your apprenticeship programme.
GCSE in:
As a Bricklaying Apprentice you will be working outdoors and sometimes in cold / inclement conditions. You must also be physically capable to lift and carry heavy items. There may be early starts so the successful candidate will be used to and early start to the day.
J.G Bricklaying Ltd is a Bristol based bricklaying company, formed in 2003. We have obtained a position & reputation at the forefront of bricklaying, specialising in all aspects of major construction & house building. Our work consists of all aspects of bricklaying including ‘Best Quality Face’ brickwork, common brickwork, ‘Face and Fair Faced’ blockwork, Ashlar stone and natural stone work of random rubble plus semi dressed finishes.
Full-time permanent position on the successful completion of apprenticeship.
