What is Sustainable Travel?

SGS defines sustainable travel as travelling by foot, by bike, by bus/coach, by rail, by motorbike or by car sharing. You are encouraged to follow the sustainable travel hierarchy when travelling, whether it is part of your daily commute, for a business/study trip or for leisure.

How will I make a positive impact by travelling sustainably?

  2. By travelling sustainably you will be helping to reduce congestion, improve the air quality of your city and reducing the amount of carbon that is released into the atmosphere.

  3. Health and Wellbeing
  4. Active transport is an easy and convenient way to build physical activity into daily routines.

  6. Travelling sustainably can save you a significant amount of money by reducing fuel consumption, parking costs etc.
