Covid Update

On Tuesday 29 March, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Sajid Javid, set out the next steps for living with COVID-19 in England from Friday 1 April.

Updated guidance advises:

  • Adults with the symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature or feel unwell, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well enough to resume normal activities and no longer have a high temperature.
  • Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can return to college when they no longer have a high temperature, and are well enough to attend.
  • Adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the advice is 3 days.

For education and childcare settings from Friday 1 April:

  • Regular asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended in any education or childcare setting, including in SEND, alternative provision and children’s social care settings. Therefore, we will no longer be able to order test kits .

In this course you will be completing assignments for two units to achieve a level 3 certificate. The units are - CMI 301 – Principles of Management and Leadership: Enhance your professional edge and personal effectiveness by equipping yourself with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours essential for effective management and leadership. This unit explores the functioning of organisations, applying management and leadership approaches to positively impact your ability to lead, improve performance, and support your team, customers, and colleagues.

CMI 302 – Managing a Team to Achieve Results: A critical skill for any manager is the ability to effectively manage teams, foster communication, and overcome barriers to success. This unit delves into the nature of workplace teams, providing insights and strategies for managing them to achieve outstanding results.

Option 1:

This option follows a workshop-based approach, providing a comprehensive understanding of key management principles. Each unit comprises a full-day workshop complemented by an additional one-on-one tutorial session.

To achieve this qualification, you must complete a combination of a minimum of 130 tutor hours, accumulating 13 credits. The dates for the next workshops are: Unit 301: Principles of Management & Leadership: 26th April 2024 09:30am-16:00 Unit 302: Managing a Team to Achieve Results: 16th May 2024 09:30am-16:00

Option 2:

This option allows you to complete the qualification following a 10 week evening course, where you will join an interactive online session once a week. This program is crafted to fit seamlessly into your busy schedule while providing invaluable insights and skills for personal and organisational success.

The dates and information for this option follows- Workshop 1 - Introduction - 301: Thursday 11th April Workshop 2 - 301: Thursday 18th April Workshop 3 - 301: Thursday 25th April 1 to 1 tutorials between 25th April and 9th May Workshop 4 - 302: Thursday 9th May Workshop 5 - 302: Wednesday 15th May Workshop 6 - 302: Thursday 23rd May 1 to 1 tutorials between 23rd May and 6th June.

Entry Requirements

To excel in this qualification, a good level of English proficiency and assignment writing skills are essential. The certificate is tailored for practicing or aspiring managers who are responsible for supervising teams and achieving clear outcomes.
