Double win for SGS

SGS AASE boxer Natalie Craig was victorious in her contest against Irish International Joanne Richards last weekend.

The contest took place in New Ross in southwest county Wexford, against Joanne, a World championship bronze medallist and by far Natalie's toughest opponent to date.

Natalie said: "Joanne caught me with hard shots in the first round and I was stunned.  My coach told me to get on my bike and box with short burst and it worked for the next two rounds which, saw me take a unanimous decision. I am thrilled to have gained a win against such a class opponent hopefully it is a sign of bigger things to come."

Natalie's success was followed by team mate and fellow SGS boxer Daryl Dunne, who won his contest against Joanne Richard's brother Jordon, with a powerful 1st round TKO win.

Daryl commented: "Boxing in a different country was very different however, I was determined to do well."

Head of Boxing at SGS, Craig Turner added: "By far it was the guys best performances against very capable opponents.  The welcome we received and hospitality in New Ross was fantastic, and our thanks to them for the invitation."
