Class trip brings industry knowledge into focus for photography students
Learners studying level 2 photography at SGS College’s Stroud Campus, had the opportunity to visit photographer Stephen Lenthall and creative partner Jenny Bowers at Article Studio in Nailsworth.
The visit, which took place early February, was organised by college staff so learners could get an insight into working in still life, product and advertising photography.
Learners were shown examples of previous shoots, demonstrating the range of different products that the company work with on a daily basis. They were also given a talk about the creative process of working with a client to produce the final outcome.
Stephen showed off a range of specialist studio and photographic equipment and the post-production processes used. Learners took the opportunity to ask bold and interesting questions such as: “What was your most unusual client?”
Article Studio work with a range of clients ranging from lifestyle to local artisan. Their work has featured in publications such as Wallpaper*, The Guardian, Wired, GQ, Mens Health, Glamour, Modigraf, Muller, Dairy Crest, Tesco, Peroni, Google, Mazda Zoom Zoom and many more.
