Careers in full flight for completing aviation learners

Air Industry students bid a final farewell to SGS College, Wednesday 7th March, with a celebratory graduation ceremony.

The learners, who completed a six-month level 2 specialist qualification in Air Cabin Crew & Aviation Operations, are now progressing into employment as cabin crew for Thomas Cook, and passenger services agents for Swissport, based at Bristol Airport.

The graduating learners surprised their guests with a performance as well as a showcase of their completed projects.

Course lecturer, Yvonne Woods, comments: “I’m delighted for all the students that have achieved their goal. The whole class have been committed, hard working and have conducted themselves professionally in and out of the classroom. They are a credit to themselves and SGS College.”

Speaking of her experience, 43 year-old student, Susan Prince, said: “Studying Air Cabin Crew & Aviation Operations has been great fun. It’s also been a fantastic way to secure the job I’ve always wanted. I can’t wait to start my new career. I feel well prepared after completing the course at SGS.

"Being a mature student I was worried about going back to college but my tutor Yvonne made me feel welcome, comfortable and as important as the younger students."
