The hairdressing and beauty therapy industry can be fun, fast-paced and fabulous.
You certainly won't be short of career options. High streets are bursting with salons catering to all tastes, and no high-quality hotel, resort or cruise ship is complete without a professional-standard hair and beauty salon.
From hairdressing to shellac nail art and Theatrical and Media make up artistry, we offer a range of full-time and part-time courses, including apprenticeships. So whether you are looking to start your career or are already working in the industry and want to update your skills, we have a hair and beauty course for you.
Our salons are also open to the public. So you won't only be practicing your skills on models - you'll have the opportunity to refine your techniques on actual paying customers, building your confidence and gaining experience in a commercial environment. What's more, our strong links with local salons will help you gain valuable work experience. You'll acquire all the latest technical skills from cutting to colouring or manicures to massage, along with the chance to explore your creativity through various internal and external competitions.
Where could it take you? You will be in a prime position for a wide range of opportunities in the booming hairdressing and beauty therapy industry. Typical roles include stylist, assistant hair stylist, salon receptionist, junior beauty therapist, makeup artist, masseur/masseuse, salon manager or spa manager.
If you want to progress a little further, former students have gone on to work on cruise ships, hotels and resorts, make-up for fashion shoots and films and some have started their own hair and beauty businesses. If you prefer to take your skills to a higher level, our hair and beauty courses are ideal stepping stones to an apprenticeship or further study.
